It didn’t take long, however, for Lindy to become fascinated with the view from the other side of the lens. In the early 1980’s, Lindy officially shifted to a career as a commercial photographer.
In addition to her portraiture, Lindy has worked with a wide variety of print media on photography assignment for editors, including for The New York Times, Women's Wear Daily and TodayMedia. Her photographs add further dimensions to the articles and provide a keen visual identity to the topics. Lindy’s photographs in the hardcover coffee table book, The Cleveland Indians: A Family Album authored by Bill Levy and Steve Saferin, capture the behind-the-scene personal relationships of the players, coaches and families of the Cleveland Indians Baseball Organization. The bookhas become a baseball collectible and has been hailed for its intimate portraits. Lindy Powers has a variety of stock images for sale on Gettyimages.com and Alamy.com. Lindy works on location and in her studio which is located in suburban Philadelphia in Kennett Square/Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania. She accepts travel assignments and is available for ASAP assignments.
ėThroughout my career in public relations, Iíve worked with many photographers in New York, Philadelphia and Wilmington. Lindy offers very reasonable prices for a pro of her caliber.
She is an artist and a skilled shooter. Lindy ëgets it,í is fast, and she was able to interpret my vision clearly with great results in several set-ups over a course of a few hours.î
ėThis is a great book for any Cleveland Indians fan! I just wish Lindy Powers would do more books on other sports teams as well! ÖReally awesome shots of the players and their families.î
ėLindy understands how your portrait speaks FOR you and she has the talent for bringing it out of you in front of the camera.î
